Long post, here is what I should have for your time...After nearly four months of attempting to get her road ready, I have given up on my MazdaSpeed Protege. I've gone through 2 full sets of transmission gears as well as an output shaft attempting to make her shift...not to mention the various sensors that had to be replaced and the bushings that were shot, all that time and money wasted, and my mechanic is buying me out of it and making us square on the labor. So now instead of having over 4000 dollars to spend on my a reliable dd, I might have 2000. So I'm pretty well screwed as far as getting something reliable that doesn't need thousands in repairs to make it roadworthy. On the bright side tho, I do get to go car shopping again, which is my favorite activity anyway, so that's a plus. Maybe I'll get a Panther.

Holy crap, a comanche that isn't made up almost entirely of rust is incredible. You could get that, drive it around for a couple years, then sell it up here (MI) for double that, as those things are getting super rare around these parts.

More like by the seller I got the car from. The mechanic I supplied with the parts and helped with almost all the installation.

I spent $1,500 on this. It needed tires, a water pump, and new speakers. Oh, and the flat red paint was gross so I spray painted it flat tan. I might have $2,300 in it and it runs pretty well. You can get these all week long for super cheap!
